Kaylie & Cassandra founded Story Roots Productions in 2016 to make oral history accessible to people from all walks of life. Learn more about them below.

Kaylie Stokes is an oral historian with a background in journalism and video production and editing. Kaylie graduated from New College of Florida with a degree in Social Sciences. For her thesis, she conducted oral history interviews with members of the black community who had grown up on Gasparilla Island, Florida, and discussed the nuance and importance of what is considered “History.” Kaylie has completed oral history projects for families across the United States and internationally, as well as for local governments and non-profits. When not learning more about you and your life, Kaylie likes to take her dog to the dogpark, cook, and play card games.
